Car, bicycle or walking
Choose a starting point and destination, then plan using the travel mode that fits the trip.
Iiro combines route planning, timing and private trip sharing in one flow. Plan where you are going, add stops and breaks, estimate your arrival time and save useful places or routes. When the trip starts, share one private encrypted link so selected people can follow in their browser.
Choose a starting point and destination, then plan using the travel mode that fits the trip.
Add intermediate stops and include planned stop time so the schedule reflects the trip you actually intend to make.
Change the planned departure time and see when you would arrive. For road-network routes, you can fine-tune the ETA with a percentage adjustment for the selected travel mode.
Search can use city, country and distance from the current GPS location, and nearby results can be shown first. If GPS is unavailable, search can still work without location-dependent filtering.
You can also select a point directly from the map.
Save places you use often and find them quickly when building another trip.
Save a complete prepared route for later reuse, including intermediate stops and planned break times, so you do not have to build the same trip again.
Different places can need very different boundaries. Iiro lets you tune how arrival and departure are recognized without changing the route itself.
Set default values for both arrival and departure. An individual saved or selected place can use its own values when a destination needs a smaller or larger practical area. For example, a large shopping centre, golf course or other large area could use a 1000 m arrival radius and a 1200 m departure radius.
Choose how many consecutive outside measurements Iiro requires before it accepts that you have left a place. The default is 3, helping avoid treating a single stray location reading as a departure.
For normal car, bicycle and walking trips, Iiro can calculate a route using the available routing service. The route supports distance, timing, stops, ETA and progress.
Iiro is not a turn-by-turn navigator.
Choose a separate straight-line mode when the road network is not the useful model. The trip is built as start → stops → destination using direct distance. Straight-line ETA uses separate user-configurable speeds for each travel mode.
Iiro does not silently replace a failed road route with straight-line routing.
Saved places and routes are kept on the phone. Straight-line trips are built locally, and the same road-network route may also be available offline if it has been fetched before. Address search, new road-route calculations, map tiles and trip sharing still rely on network services.
You can prepare the route, timing, stops and ETA without sharing anything. Only when you start the tracked trip do you create the private link you choose to send.
Share the same link with several selected people. An optional nickname can make the shared trip easier to recognize, for example “Tero shared their trip”. The nickname is not an account or login. Anyone with the complete link can open the shared trip.
The recipient needs only a compatible web browser, not Iiro, a matching Android phone or a viewer account.
A tracked trip requires the necessary Android location permission. If permission is missing, the app blocks the tracked trip from starting.
The current Android app and viewer include a T map control for timing information at relevant route points. T changes presentation, not the trip's ETA.
The browser viewer can change T-label size locally from 50% to 500%. This A/a control is a web-viewer feature, not a current Android feature.
Normal use does not require registration, an email address or login. Viewers do not need accounts either.
Shared live-trip content is encrypted on the Android phone with AES-256-GCM before transmission.
The Android app currently supports 22 languages. The browser viewer is a separate web component and should not be assumed to have the same language set.
Iiro is not a turn-by-turn navigator, taxi or transport service, fleet-management system, child tracker, hidden surveillance tool, safety system, emergency locator or official tracking service.
Use Iiro to plan your route and timing, then give the people waiting for you one simple way to follow the trip.
